Description
Organic sweet peperonata, slowly cooked vegetables from Puglia.
Peperonata is a classic of Italian home cooking, and this one is made with organic vegetables: peppers, cornaletti (long sweet peppers), celery and onion are washed, trimmed and cooked together with extra virgin olive oil, organic vinegar, salt and a little sugar until soft and rich. The jar is pasteurised with no added preservatives. The declared ingredients are organic peppers, organic cornaletti, organic celery, organic onion, extra virgin olive oil, salt, organic vinegar and sugar. The texture is dense, the colour a bright red-brown, the taste full and gently sweet.
For restaurants and chefs. Peperonata is ready to serve as a side or an antipasto with no prep. Warm it next to white meats, chicken and sausages, spoon it onto bruschetta, or toss it with short pasta for a quick vegetable dish. It also fills panini and focaccia for lunch service and pairs well with fresh cheeses. A jar covers several side portions straight from the pantry.
For specialty and Italian stores. Peperonata is a dish many Italian customers know from home, and finding it ready in a jar is a reason to buy. The organic vegetables and the absence of added preservatives are clear arguments, and the sweet version suits the whole family. Sell it next to bread and cheeses or as part of an antipasto selection; the spicy version from the same producer is the natural companion. Shelf life is 24 months from production.
