Description
Verdeca, a white grape native to Puglia, in a fresh steel-fermented version from the Tinente line.
Tinente Verdeca is a Salento IGP from 100% Verdeca grown on Guyot around Copertino. The grapes are pressed gently, the skins separated at once, and the juice fermented in steel below 15°C, then kept in temperature-controlled tanks. The producer describes a light straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections, a delicate fruity bouquet, and a fresh, harmonious, savoury palate. Serve at 8-10°C.
For restaurants and chefs. A fresh white for aperitivo and the fish menu. The producer pairs it with appetizers, fish first courses, fish in general and crustaceans: think prawns, pasta with clams or grilled squid. Its price makes it easy to keep open by the glass through service.
For specialty and Italian stores. Verdeca gives customers a native Puglia white at an accessible price, a simple first step beyond the familiar varieties. Fresh and light, it moves fastest in the warm months. Suggest it with the store’s seafood preserves and taralli for an aperitivo basket.
