Description
Chardonnay grown in Salento, on Guyot vines around Copertino, and kept in steel from press to bottle.
Corte Saggese is a Salento IGP from 100% Chardonnay. The grapes are crushed and pressed gently, with immediate separation of the skins, and the wine ages in temperature-controlled steel tanks to keep its aromas. The producer describes a straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections, a fresh bouquet with ripe fruit, and a dry, soft palate of good persistence. Serve at 8-10°C.
For restaurants and chefs. A white for kitchens that want one reliable bottle across the fish and pasta menu. The producer pairs it with first courses in delicate sauces, seafood, fish, white meats and fresh cheeses: spaghetti alle vongole, grilled sea bream or chicken with lemon all fit. Every guest recognises Chardonnay, so it is an easy sell to any table.
For specialty and Italian stores. Chardonnay is the white grape customers most often ask for by name, and a Salento version adds an Italian origin without asking them to learn a new variety. At a mid price it rotates well as an everyday white and as a simple host gift. At the counter it pairs with burrata, mozzarella and seafood preserves.
