Description
Negroamaro, the dark grape of Salento, in its everyday Tinente version.
Tinente Negroamaro is a Salento IGP from 100% Negroamaro grown on Guyot around Copertino. Classic red vinification keeps the must on the skins for 6 to 8 days at 26-28°C, and the wine ages in stainless steel. The producer describes a ruby colour, a bouquet of well-ripened small fruits, and a velvety, harmonious and persistent palate. Serve at 18°C.
For restaurants and chefs. Built for a Puglia-style menu, it goes with what the producer suggests: first courses, boiled and roast meats, strong dishes and cheeses. It suits pasta al forno, braciole in tomato sauce and grilled sausages. Priced for volume, it can anchor the red wines served by the glass.
For specialty and Italian stores. Negroamaro is the grape that defines Salento, and Tinente makes it easy to try at an everyday price. Its name, often traced to the words for black in both Latin and Greek, gives staff a quick talking point. It combines well with the rest of the Tinente line in a mixed case.
