Description
Bomba Saporita, chili and vegetables chopped together in oil.
This is Rosso di Calabria’s version of the spicy vegetable mix that Calabria calls bomba: 27% hot chili pepper with aubergine (18%), sweet pepper (17%), onion (7%) and sun-dried tomato (2%), in sunflower oil and extra virgin olive oil with wine vinegar, oregano and garlic. Citric acid acts as acidity regulator. The producer presents it as a balanced mix of flavours with a spicy finish.
For restaurants and chefs. Straight from the jar it adds a hot vegetable element to an antipasto plate with no prep. Spread it on crostini, fold it into omelettes and frittata, toss it with short pasta and a little cooking water, or use it to top pizza bianca and focaccia. A spoonful in a sandwich with salami or provola makes a quick bar menu item.
For specialty and Italian stores. Bomba appeals to customers who buy for antipasti and aperitivo, and the 280 g jar reads as good value beside smaller chili creams. Suggest it with crackers, taralli and cured meats for an aperitivo basket, or as a gift with other Calabrian products. The chili and vegetable pieces visible in the glass jar do much of the selling.
Specs: 280 g, case of 12, shelf life 24 months, vegan, Calabria (Italy).
