Description
A 300 g pack of calamarata, ring-shaped pasta in organic durum wheat from Puglia and Basilicata.
Two ingredients, organic durum wheat semolina and water, from native wheat varieties that certified farms grow in Puglia and Basilicata. Pasta Orobio in Altamura bronze-draws the dough and dries it at low temperature over long times. Laboratory checks on the semolina come before processing, and analysis finds no detectable mycotoxins in the pasta (below 20 ppb). Cooking time 10 minutes, according to the producer. Store in a cool, dry place.
For restaurants and chefs. With around three servings of 100 g, the 300 g pack suits a seafood special or a family-style starter. Pair it with squid and tomato, with clams and courgettes, or with tomato and basil for a vegetarian option. Ten minutes of cooking keeps the rings firm for a final toss with the sauce.
For specialty and Italian stores. The squid-ring shape sparks curiosity, and the smaller pack turns that curiosity into a first purchase at a modest price. It works in coastal-themed gift boxes and as a suggestion to customers buying fish at the deli counter. Organic and mycotoxin-free, it gives a further reason to choose it.
Format guidance: the 300 g pack is the retail and trial size. The 500 g pack offers a better cost per portion.
