Description
Malvasia bianca from Salento, aromatic with white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit.
Tinente Malvasia Bianca is a Salento IGP from 100% Malvasia bianca grown on Guyot around Copertino. The grapes are pressed gently with immediate separation of the skins; the juice ferments in steel below 15°C and the wine ages in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The producer describes a light straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections, an intense bouquet of white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit, and a fresh, balanced palate with a savoury vein. Serve at 8-10°C.
For restaurants and chefs. Its aromatic profile lifts the aperitivo and the fish courses the producer recommends: appetizers, fish first courses, fish in general and crustaceans. It suits scampi, mussels with white wine and lightly spiced fish dishes. An affordable aromatic white gives the list a change of register from neutral whites.
For specialty and Italian stores. Malvasia bianca offers customers an aromatic white with a southern Italian identity at an everyday price. Its floral nose makes it easy to recommend to those who usually buy aromatic varieties. It rounds out the Tinente whites next to Verdeca and Verdeca Brioso.
